What is chlamydia?

However, they can not be obtained at the counter. They require a visit to the doctor for a physical examination and an appropriate diagnosis.
For seven days, erythromycin is the standard treatment for babies who get chlamydial infections in the eyes during birth. Chlamydia Eye infections in newborns can lead to blindness. Nausea and vomiting are notable side effects of this medication.
This medication provides an easy and quick cure for chlamydia. Azithromycin is taken in a single dose of 4 tablets. It is a good option for those in whom compliance with medication is a problem. Although derived from erythromycin, azithromycin has a longer half-life than erythromycin. Common side effects of azithromycin include diarrhea, nausea and abdominal pain.
Doxycycline should be taken for a period of seven days. But it works very effectively to kill the bacterium Chlamydia trachomatis. Doxycycline is an old drug with a known work history. It should not be administered to pregnant or lactating women.
